Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino crowned Miss World 2009

Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorinothe was crowned Miss World 2009. The first runner up was Miss Mexico Perla Beltrán. And the 2nd runner up was Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar.

During the Q&A round, Miss Gibraltar was asked where she would take her family in Johannesburg. She replied that she would take her family to a lot of places in Africa and within Johannesburg she would take them to the Lions Park.

The brown-eyed Kaiane Aldorino is 22 years old and she is fluent in Spanish and English. She is an HR Clerk and is an out-going person who enjoys traveling with her friends and family.

Former Miss World and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra was one of the judges in the contest. Miss India Pooja Chopra managed the title of 'Beauty with a Purpose’. “I’m speechless at the moment, I don’t know what to say,” Pooja said on winning her title.  Pooja came on the stage wearing a cast. She twisted her ankle just two days before the pageant night.

India has produced five Miss Worlds with Reita Faria winning the title in 1966, Aishwarya Rai in 1994, Diana Hayden in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999, and Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
